TERMITE BARRIER REGULATION
In areas where termites are active (see regional prefectural order), it has been mandatory to place a physical termite barrier between the ground and the building since 2006, in addition to protecting timber in the building.
The National Termite Observatory has set up a map which lists all the orders and protective requirements for barriers between the ground and buildings. Click on the following link to view the map: termite.com
Nevertheless, the official source of information can only be obtained from town halls and the administrative centre for the region.
The French Ministère de la cohésion des territoires regularly updates its regulatory and technical guide for the prevention of termites: «Guide technique et réglementaire - Prévention contre les termites à l’interface sol-bâti ».
